Serb towns to make Putin "honorary Kosovo citizen"

The Assembly of the Kosovo and Metohija Municipalities announced that they would declare Russian PM Vladimir Putin a honorary citizen. The meeting of the assembly, which gathers Serb municipalities rejecting the authority of the Kosovo Albanian government in Pristina, is set to take place in the northern town of Zubin Potok. Serb towns to make Putin "honorary Kosovo citizen" The Assembly President Radovan Nikcic explained this decision by saying that Putin "advocates and cares about Serbia's territorial integrity more than Belgrade itself". Putin, and Russia, are making sure that Kosovo remains part of Serbia's territory, he said. "It will be a ceremonial gathering and we will declare Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin a honorary citizen of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija," Nicic was quoted as saying. Putin is due in Belgrade for a working visit later this month.
