Forming of the new Kosovo government has been called into question. Some MPs from Hashim Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) do not want Behgjet Pacolli to be a president of Kosovo. Forming of Kosovo govt. called into question According to earlier announcements, the new government should be formed by the PDK and Pacolli’s New Kosovo Alliance (AKR). Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore claims, quoting reliable sources, that eight out of ten PDK MPs will not support Pacolli because they want current Acting President Jakup Krasniqi to get the position. They are hoping that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) will also support Krasniqi because of his readiness to be principled. A DPK high official, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that “those who support Krasniqi” had had a meeting the previous day in order to express their dissatisfaction with their party leader who had failed to keep them informed during the forming of new institutions. “It was decided at the meeting to send a message to Thaci that he cannot cast aside people who formed the party and who won the majority of people’s votes. The message showed Thaci that only Jakup Krasniqi can be chosen as president,” the daily’s source stressed. Daily Zeri writes that now that Thaci and the PDK have ensured participation of the AKR and minority parties in the coalition, they expect to win over two more Serb MPs and three to five Democratic Union of Kosovo (DSK) and AAK MPs. In that case the future government would have more than 65 votes.
