Kosovo: Election repeat in 5 municipalities

The body organizing elections in Kosovo on Thursday decided to annul the results of the voting on 21 polls in five municipalities. This came due to irregularities during the voting at the early elections held on December 12, organized by the Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina. Kosovo: Election repeat in 5 municipalities The Kosovo Central Election Commission (CEC) will appoint new presidents of election boards and increase supervision during the voting process, it has been announced. CEC President Valdete Daka announced that elections in these polls will be repeated on January 9, 2011. According to CEC's preliminary results, Hashim Thaci's Democratic Party of Kosovo won the most votes, the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo ranked second, the Self-Determination Movement ranked third, whereas Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and New Kosovo Alliance took fourth and fifth place respectively.
