The government has sent a demand for scheduling an emergency parliamentary session on Monday, July 26. According to the prime minister’s cabinet, the parliament would meet to discuss the opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Kosovo’s unilaterally proclaimed independence, which was given on Thursday. Emergency parliamentary session requested The parliament would give its opinion on the ICJ’s decision and on the continuation of Serbia’s activities towards defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. At an emergency meeting of the government on Friday, it was decided that the government would submit an act to the parliament for adoption, which would try to achieve unity regarding the question of Serbia’s territorial integrity among all state structures. The meeting was attended by President Boris Tadic as well, and according to statements, the situation in the wake of the ICJ’s decision on Kosovo was analyzed and discussed by government officials.
