Telekom network restored in enclave in south

The southern Kosovo municipality of Strpce once again has access to the Telekom Srbija mobile phone networks, according to local officials. Municipal President working within the system of the Serbian government, Zvonko Mihajlovic, said that the mobile signal was restored on Monday night at about 21:30 CET, but was not able to elaborate on how the network was allowed to go up again. Telekom network restored in enclave in south Serbs in Strpce held a protest on Monday against the disabling of Serbian mobile phone networks in the region. The municipality has another local assembly and president – chosen in elections organized by the Kosovo Albanian government in Pristina. Branislav Nikolic also confirmed that Telekom’s signal has been restored in the municipality, but did not say how this came about. Nikolic said that he met with KFOR officials to discuss the situation on Monday. The Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina moved to dismantle Telekom and Telenor base stations that provide phone service to the Serb community over the weekend.
