FM Vuk Jeremic's upcoming meetings with his Spanish and Turkish counterparts will be vital for finding a solution for better regional cooperation says a report. Jeremic will be meeting with Spain's Miguel Angel Moratinos and Turkey's Ahmet Davutoglu on Tuesday in Belgrade, and according to the daily, will be looking for a new way in which Kosovo Albanian authorities could participate in top level regional and international conferences. "New model for Kosovo's participation" The trilateral meeting will be key for finding a new formula for dynamic regional cooperation, in an effort to leave "no country out of the regional dialogue", Blic stated, citing diplomatic sources from Belgrade. The newspaper says that the three ministers will "look for ways in which Belgrade and Pristina could negotiate directly in the future". Consultations are planned in Brussels after Tuesday's meeting to discuss the trilateral meeting in Belgrade and the finalization of the issue is expected to come with the visit of Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini next week, says the article. The Serbian Foreign Ministry confirmed that these meeting were scheduled, but would not comment on what the topics of discussion would be. The meeting is also expected to focus on issues related to the EU-Western Balkans summit, which the Spanish EU presidency plans on holding in Sarajevo on June 2. The Sarajevo summit is expected to open up new perspectives for all regional countries regarding European integration, says Blic. "The conference will not be deemed successful unless a solution is found for getting senior officials from Belgrade and Pristina to attend," the daily states. Serbia will not give up on the demand that Kosovo be represented differently than other participants in regional meetings, which is the reason by Serbian officials did not attend a similar meeting in Slovenia recently, in which Pristina officials participated under the name of Kosovo, not UNMIK-Kosovo as Belgrade requested. "We will look not to put UNMIK in a weaker position than it is now, legally and representatively. Serbian officials are cooperative and ready to reach an agreement, under the condition that it is principled and respects the asymmetric representation and correspondence in relation to the recognized countries in the region," Blic's source said.
