Priština: KPS official sacked
The Kosovo government released an official statement confirming that Kosovo, KPS General Director <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2010&mm=04&dd=06&nav_id=66298" class="text-link" target= "_blank">Sheremet Ahmeti</a> has been dismissed.

The Kosovo government released an official statement confirming that Kosovo, KPS General Director Sheremet Ahmeti has been dismissed. According to this, Kosovo Albanian Prime Minister Hashim Thaci "named the deputy director of the border police, Behar Selimi, as Ahmeti’s replacement". Thaci thanked Ahmeti for his work and contributions to "increasing the professionalism of Kosovo police". The statement adds that Thaci encouraged the new general director to remain “dedicated to professionalism, deepening reforms and achieving standards in the Kosovo police force so that it could work effectively and strengthen the rule of law". Thaci stressed that the fight against organized crime and corruption "must continue".
