President Boris Tadic said that Serbia will accept the participation of the Pristina government in a regional conference only under the name ”Kosovo-UNMIK.” He said that Serbia will participate in the conference of Southeast European state heads in Slovenia on March 20 only if Kosovo officials are present in the format foreseen by the UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Tadic insists on “Kosovo-UNMIK” name “That is a prerequisite for Serbia participating at such a forum,” Tadic said after meeting with Slovenian and Croatian Prime Ministers Borut Pahor and Jadranka Kosor in Slovenia on Friday. He said that Serbia wants to solve the problem of the participation of Kosovo officials at this conference, adding that Kosovo officials participated in other international conferences under the UNMIK name, and that there is no reason for that not to continue. Tadic also said that economic cooperation between Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia is steadily improving. He also said that EU membership is the united interest of all regional countries, and that the road to European integration must be taken step by step through the solving of problems between regional countries and by avoiding new disputes. Pahor and Kosor, the co-organizers of the March 20 meeting, said that the main topics of the conference would be economic cooperation and the possibility for the region to contribute to stability and security in all of Europe. Tadic, Pahor, and Kosor agreed to implement a lasting ”personal trilateral” in order to effectively solve questions of joint interest, adding that there will be more such meetings, first in Zagreb, then in Belgrade. “This personal trilateral will contribute to strengthening trust in the leading people of the three countries,” Pahor said. He said that he is content with the Friday meeting and hopes that some issues will be solved at the March conference. The three state officials said that their goal is to solve all open questions that exist between the three countries. Boris Tadic, Borut Pahor, and Jadranka Kosor (Tanjug)
