Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) official Borka Vučić died when the car she was riding in hit a protective wall on the side of the highway and caught on fire.

Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) official Borka Vucic died when the car she was riding in hit a protective wall on the side of the highway and caught on fire. According to a television station in Kragujevac, the accident occurred when the car, in which four people were traveling, got a flat tire and the driver lost control, swerved over to the other side of the road, hit the wall, and caught fire. SPS official dies in car crash The accident occurred on Saturday at about 15:00 CET on the Belgrade-Nis highway near Lapovo. Vucic and one other person, Mirjana Blagojevic died in the accident, while the other two passengers are being treated for injuries at the Kragujevac clinical center. Vucic (83) was named the parliamentary speaker while it was being constituted, and was elected to parliament as an SPS official after the parliamentary elections of January 21, 2007. She was known for administering the state-owned Belgrade Bank during the time of Slobodan Milosevic, and was considered to be one of the most important people in the sector of finance during his regime.
