"Strong evidence supporting independence"
29 November 2009 | 14:33 | Source: Beta
PRIŠTINA -- Kosovo Albanian Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni says Kosovo’s representation before the ICJ will be presenting very strong evidence to support its independence.

“We will be presenting strong arguments for the defense of Kosovo’s right to be an independent and sovereign state and for the defense of the political will of the people of Kosovo for statehood,” Hyseni said, according to Albanian language daily Express.

He said that “no argument for the defense of the legitimate proclamation of Kosovo’s independence will be left out.”

Hyseni left on Saturday for The Hague with a team of lawyers led by British expert Michael Wood.

The process before the International Court of Justice regarding the legality of the Kosovo Albanian unilateral proclamation of independence has been one of the main topics in the Kosovo media in recent days.

The media say that it will be a legal battle in which 29 other countries, "besides Kosovo and Serbia", will participate—including some of the most powerful countries in the world, and that they would “offer help and support to both Kosovo and Serbia.”
