Tadić thanked Kuwait for its support to Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

He said he would personally uphold the fostering of bilateral relations based on decades-long friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two nations.

He also welcomed Kuwait's decision to reopen its embassy in Serbia.

This has contributed to immediate reestablishment of political dialogue and to the fostering of bilateral cooperation, he said.

Tadić also commended the signing of cooperation agreements in the economy, culture and tourism sectors, his office said.

He also expressed hope that economic cooperation will reach a high level.

There is great scope for restoring military industry cooperation between Serbia and Kuwait, Tadić said.

Al-Sabah previously met with his Serbian counterpart Mirko Cvetković.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Kuwaiti premier said the two countries have close ties, not only in political terms, but in terms of business, investment and culture as well.

Cvetković remarked that "the door is open to investors from Kuwait".

He went on to say that Belgrade highly appreciates Kuwait's principled position on Serbia's territorial sovereignty and integrity in Kosovo. In turn, Cvetković's Kuwaiti guest thanked Serbia for its support during the Iraqi occupation during the rule of Saddam Hussein.
