BELGRADE --
German NGO Help signed on Tuesday cooperation memorandums with 17 Serbian towns and municipalities worth some EUR 800,000.
Development projects for small enterprises will be realized in Aleksinac, Bosilegrad, Bujanovac, Gadžin Han, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Leskovac, Niš, Novi Pazar, Pirot, Preševo, Smederevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Surdulica, Trgovište, Užice and Vranje.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Help's activities in Serbia, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Miloš Bugarin said that PKS "wishes in this way to point to the importance of fostering economic cooperation with Germany on Serbia's path towards EU integration".
Germany is one of Serbia's largest donors with about EUR 700mn aid to economic cooperation and development since 2000, he said.
In the past two years, that aid was earmarked above all for the development of the energy, utilities and financial sectors, Bugarin noted.
German Ambassador to Serbia Wolfram Maas said that the German government has so far granted to Help EUR 4mn for its projects.
