| Govt. to spend more money on swine flu shots |

BELGRADE --
A working group set up to monitoring of the spreads of swine flu in Serbia met today with government officials in Belgrade.
Reports from the meeting said that they concluded that the "epidemiological situation in Serbia was unfavorable".
Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković and Ministers of Health and Education Tomica Milosavljević and Žarko Obradović talked today to the representatives of the Special Working Group, set up to implement a plan of activities before and during the H1N1 virus epidemic, a statement from the government said.
The situation was deemed as "unfavorable" because of epidemics that have been declared in two towns in central Serbia: in Kraljevo, and in a Čačak elementary.
The work group and government officials stated that the health system had taken all the necessary steps thus far concerning monitoring and treatment of those infected.
The meeting agreed that the purchase of vaccines should be accelerated, observed that health institutions were equipped with a sufficient number of respirators, and said that additional breathing machines were being purchased.
Cvetković was assured that Serbia has sufficient supplies of antivirus medication, the statement said.
The prime minister stressed that the government is set to "urgently provide additional funds for the purchase of vaccines, medication and protective equipment".
