Christopher Dell says that Belgrade was acting in an "obsolete" manner when it called on Serbs not to vote in the local elections in Kosovo.
Dell, appointed by Washington as its ambassador to Kosovo, told Radio KiM that the Serbian government's perspective dated "back to a period 10 years ago".
He also stated "that such a policy was more for the sake of the government in Belgrade than for the Serbs living in Kosovo", but he added that he still hoped Belgrade "would not interfere in the coming weeks and obstruct the elections".
The local elections in the province, scheduled for November 15, will be held in 36 out of 38 Kosovo municipalities, while the new "Severna Mitrovica and Patreš" municipalities will be holding the elections later on, "in accordance with the Ahtisaari plan", reported Tanjug.
