Eight more villages without power
29 April 2009 | 12:29 | Source: Tanjug
GNJILANE -- Eight more villages in Kosovsko Pomoravlje were left without power yesterday evening, leaving some 10,000 Serbs in this part of the province in the dark.

The villages in question are Kusce, Stanišor, Straža, Makreš, Velce, Draganac, Grnčar, and part of Vrbovac, Kosovsko Pomoravlje District Governor Dragan Nikolić said in a statement for Tanjug.

An emergency meeting has been called for today with the municipal presidents of this district and decisions will be made about further steps to be taken, Nikolić said.

"The only topic on the agenda will be electricity. We will know what to do next after the meeting," he said.

The Kosovsko Pomoravlje villages of Šilovo, Ropotovo, Drenovac, Koloreč, Ranilug and Glogovac have been without power for over a week.

14 Šilovo residents were injured in clashes with members of the Kosovo Police Service that broke out during a protest at a power cut at the beginning of last month.

Residents of Šilovo were left without electricity during February and March for over a month.
