Turkey and Sweden have accepted the new Kosovo passports, it has been announced in Pristina. “The Turkish institutions have decided to recognize the Republic of Kosovo passports. Starting from August 11, visas will begin to be issued for Kosovo passports, as well as permits for entering Turkey with these passports,” says the Turkish Office in Pristina. Turkey, Sweden to accept Kosovo passports The Kosovo Interior Ministry announced that Sweden would also accept the new travel documents. In a statement, the Turkish Office adds that the decision to accept the Kosovo passports was “natural”, considering relations between Pristina and Ankara. Turkey was among the first countries to recognize the Kosovo Albanians’ unilateral declaration of independence on February 17. The statement also says that all countries that have recognized the province’s independence will also recognize its passports.
