India to back Serbian UN GA bid

JAGODINA -- India's ambassador says New Delhi will back Serbia’s call at the UN to seek the ICJ’s view on Kosovo independence.

"India abides by the principles of international law and does not recognize Kosovo's secession," said Ajay Swarup, who was visiting Jagodina on the invitation of Mayor Dragan Marković Palma.

“India will remain true to its principles in future and at the UN General Assembly session later this year,” underlined Swarup at a joint news conference with Marković.

The ambassador said that Serbia and India had no problems at political level, and that "I can assure you that it will stay like that."
