Senior Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) officials visited the grave of the former president and SPS leader on the 18th anniversary of the party’s foundation.

The delegation included Žarko Obradović, Slavica Đukić - Dejanović, Branko Ružić, Milutin Mrkonjić and Uroš Šuvaković.

Milošević was the SPS’s first leader from its foundation in 1990 until December 2006.

The former Yugoslav president passed away on March 11, 2006 in The Hague while on trial for war crimes.

Milošević’s reign as president was marked by the bloody collapse of the former Yugoslavia, UN sanctions, economic crises, hyper-inflation and the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, and ended ignominiously with the demonstrations of October 5, 2000, that came in the wake of the victory of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia at the Yugoslav presidential elections.
