Among the other parties, the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-Associated Pensioners’ Party (PUPS)-United Serbia (JS) coalition will have 20 seats, and the LDP 14.

The “For a European Serbia—Boris Tadić“ list received 38.75 percent of votes cast, translating into 102 seats in parliament, the Serb Radical Party (SRS) received 29.22 percent (77 seats), and the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS)-New Serbia (NS) coalition 11.34 percent (30 seats).

The SPS-PUPS-JS won 7.57 percent of votes (20 seats), and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) 5.3 percent (14 seats).

The Bosniak coalition collected 0.92 percent, giving them two seats, and the Hungarian coalition 1.86 percent, giving them four. The coalition of Preševo Valley Albanian parties received 0.39 percent of the vote, giving them one seat in the new parliament.

Earlier, RIK President Sonja Brkić said that while there had been several incidents reported during yesterday’s voting, none would affect the final outcome, adding that the results were coming in faster from smaller polling stations, and slower from Vojvodina and Belgrade.

CeSID: DS coalition wins elections

According to CeSID’s preliminary results, the coalition formed around the Democratic Party (DS) has won the parliamentary elections. The “For a European Serbia” list will have 103 seats in the new parliament. The Serb Radical Party (SRS) which had 81 seats in the last parliament, will now have only 77. The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has also suffered a drop in support compared to the last elections with 5.2 percent of the vote.

According to these results from the Center for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID), the DSS-NS coalition will have 30 seats, while the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-Associated Pensioners’ Party (PUPS)-United Serbia (JS) provided one of the biggest upsets of the night, claiming 20 seats.

CeSID Executive Director Zoran Lučić said that the current figures could be viewed as very reliable, and that the number of seats won by each party or coalition could potentially change by one seat either way.

The results were good enough for DS coalition supporters to begin celebrations on the streets of Belgrade last night.

Supporters gathered in front of the party’s headquarters in the center of Belgrade and were addressed by DS President Boris Tadić and Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) leader Vuk Drašković.
