Bishop Artemije says the SPC clergy and monks have severed contact with Pristina and EULEX. The head of the Rasko-Prizrenska Eparchy said that the Serb Orthodox Church in Kosovo would not be in contact with the Kosovo Albanian government in Pristina, the EU Kosovo mission (EULEX) or any country that recognizes Kosovo’s unilateral independence declaration. He stated that with this, the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Serbian constitution have been violated, “and these actions are therefore illegitimate and illegal, an furthermore, legally nonexistent.” According to Artemije’s decision, there should be “no contact, no discussions regarding any matter, no visits from or to any countries that recognized Kosovo independence, Pristina and EULEX". The bishop added that all violations by church officials of these rules “will be severely sanctioned.”
