“Serbia has offered in New York compromise and democratic solutions to the Albanian side. Our proposal guarantees the most privileged status for the ethnic Albanian minority that cannot be found elsewhere in the world,” the prime minister told Tanjug news agency on Sunday.
“Violent and unilateral solutions on the basis of which the Albanian minority in Serbia would try to create another Albanian state constitute for extremely dangerous precedents capable of jeopardizing not only the Balkans, but the entire international order,” warned Koštunica.
According to him, Serbia’s goal is to "secure development and prosperity of the ethnic Albanian minority and of the whole country," via a democratic solution.
“With that in mind, the international community now has a vital role to direct the process towards reaching a democratic compromise and rejecting violent and unilateral solutions,” Koštunica concluded.
