After a meeting of the Priština negotiating team, Sejdiu said Kosovo had not given up on its political vision of independence and that it must not be held hostage by the permanent postponement of the status solving."We will request the speeding up of the process and the clarification of further motions, at all possible levels," Sejdiu said, adding that "the most important thing is that the U.S. is strongly supporting our vision and the package of Martti Ahtisaari."
Sejdiu announced that, at its next session, the negotiating team will establish the most important questions to be discussed with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Washington on July 23.
Kosovo Premier Agim Ceku stated that Kosovo would soon have a clear stand about the process. He added that the representatives of Kosovo would go to Washington with "a clear stand and visions."
The president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said the status solving process had become more complicated than expected.
"The role of the Security Council has weakened, but we are convinced that we will be independent, one way or another, because the role of our partners is becoming stronger. Our visits to Washington, Brussels and other countries will be in the function of establishing the deadlines for ending the process," Thaci said.
