“All war criminals should be tried”

Zuroff was especially interested in the Hungarian occupying army officer Sandor Kepiro, who was involved in executions of more than 1,200 Serbs and Jews during the 1942 Novi Sad raid.

The names of Ustasha movement officers Milivoje Asner and Ivo Rojnica were also brought up in the meeting.

Koštunica said there was “no statute of limitations on war crimes”, as well as that “all war criminals should be tried.”

He said that Serbia, through its competent institutions and especially the Special Prosecutor's Office for War Crimes, would “do everything to collect evidence and gain access to witnesses so that Hungarian and Croatian bodies could carry out the necessary procedures,” the statement concludes.
