UNMIK chief: Russia won’t use veto

“What is important is to realize that right now we have a proposal two thirds of which deal with minority issues, and only one third with other problems concerning Kosovo’s separation from Serbia, including issues of jurisdiction and obligations”, Ruecker said.

“Martti Ahtisaari did not include his final recommendation of Kosovo’s status in this package. That will be on the agenda immediately before the UN Security Council session. Russia is an active Contact Group member in the Kosovo negotiations, and it will not use its veto at the UN SC“, Ruecker told Al-Jazeera.
