Source: Ahtisaari’s proposal has 10 annexes

PRIŠTINA -- The UN Kosovo envoy’s proposal will have 10 annexes attached to the main document, according to undisclosed sources.

UN Special Kosovo Envoy Martti Ahtisaari

Koha Ditore reports that Martti Ahtisaari’s Kosovo status proposal establishing principles will detail the main document with 10 annexes, and will be subject to change until January next year.

The Priština daily cites an unnamed diplomat involved in the Kosovo status process as the source, adding that the main document will contain principles for the Kosovo status solution, while the annexes are meant to detail them, determining the mechanisms for the principles to function and be implemented.

“In other words, the main document will contain all the solutions agreed upon by Ahtisaari’s office and Priština, since Belgrade failed to come up with any concrete suggestions, apart from disagreeing on the decentralization issues, religious and cultural heritage protection and minority rights”, the daily reports.

Other annexes will determine Kosovo obligations toward the international community’s institutions, as well as the nature of their presence in Kosovo.
