“Life in Kosovo” tackles constitution

Vlasi said that the Albanians do not have any trust in Belgrade and that they see the current politics of Belgrade as a continuation of the Milošević regime.

“If we look at it carefully, this is actually a political manipulation, a new moment in political manipulation of the current Serbian administration, which has remained deep in the custody of an unreformed Serbia.” Vlasi said.

Nosov said that the constitutional proposal is aimed against Vojvodina firstly, and that with legal trickery, the constitution has been turned into a document for defending Kosovo.

“If you read this constitution, it states in article 16 that any decision made on an international level, and also includes resolutions by the United Nations Security Council, automatically becomes a part of the national law. If the Security Council states tomorrow that Kosovo is independent, the decision automatically takes effect.” Nosov said.

The guests agreed that security and the respecting of human rights are the two most important factors of Kosovo’s future, because they are necessary for keeping peace in the region, regardless of final status.
