U.S. secretary of state to visit Priština

5 February 2010

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has accepted the invitation to visit Kosovo, Priština has announced.

She held a meeting in Washington with the foreign minister in Kosovo’s interim government, Skender Hyseni.

According to the announcements, Clinton spoke with Hyseni at the Prayer Breakfast and praised Kosovo’s achievements “after independence”.

Priština announced that Hyseni and Clinton “discussed in detail the processes in Kosovo and around it, the process before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), as well as steps that needed to be made in order to speed up the processes in Kosovo”.

According to this, Hyseni also met with the ambassadors of the “Caribbean area countries” serving in Washington and repeated his call for recognitions of the unilateral proclamation of Kosovo’s independence.
