Poverty and unemployment are the two main problems faced lately by the majority of Kosovo residents. This is followed by irregular supply of electric power and by corruption, according to a UN Development Program (UNDP) poll carried out in September 2009. As in a similar poll carried out in June 2009, Kosovo Albanians and members of minorities said that economic crisis is affecting them through rising prices, while Kosovo Serbs said they lost their jobs. According to current research, the Kosovo Energy Corporation and Kosovo Privatization Agency remain at the head of the list of Kosovo institutions with the highest level of corruption. The majority of Kosovo Albanians and members of other non-Serb communities cited poverty and unemployment as the main threats to Kosovo stability. They see further deterioration of inter-ethnic relations as the third threat. For Kosovo Serbs, however, deteriorating inter-ethnic relations are the main problem, followed by poverty and unemployment.
