Vučić urges postponement of statute

Opposition SNSdeputy leader Aleksandar Vučić called on Friday on the ruling parties postpone the adoption of the draft Vojvodina statute.
Vučić added that the enforcement of such an act would have long-lasting harmful consequences for Serbia and its citizens.
Vučić believes that the adoption of the draft statute would aggravate political and economic problems in Serbia and contribute to its further disintegration.
He told a press conference that the SNS will propose a great number of amendments to the draft statute, and also to the bill on determining jurisdiction of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, adding that the enforcement of the proposed amendments would considerably upgrade the two legal acts.
The debate on the statute is due to start in parliament next week. Comments (1)
