The peak level of a new wave of high water levels is expected to reach Novi Sad today.
After this wave, the water level on the Danube River is expected to begin falling off once again. Vojvodina Waterworks Director Branislav Radanovic expects that the water level will reach 625 centimetres in Novi Sad. Upstream, the water level of the Danube is decreasing steadily and Radanović said that this new wave of high waters will virtually harmless.
“This wave has caused a rise in water levels near Bezdane of about 70 centimetres, and the peak will reach Novi Sad today, and increase about 25 centimetres. The water level in Novi Sad was plus 600 several days ago in Novi Sad, and will be at about 625 tomorrow. This means that the wave is unimportant and nothing special will be happening with the Danube because its water level has already dropped off by two metres. It will have some effect on the Tisa by slowing down the rate of the decrease of water levels.” Radovanović told B92. Comments (0)
