Russia's Aeroflot has so far made the most concrete offer for the purchase of Jat Airways, Velimir Ilić says.

“The government should decide whether the Russian company can became an owner of a portion of Jat Airways stock,” Ilić said.

Minister of economy and regional developmet Mlađan Dinkić confirmed Thursday that numerous buyers showed interest in Serbia’s national airliner, adding that the government should decide on the terms of Jat’s privatization by the end of June.

Ilić told Večernje Novosti newspaper that the privatization of Jat would be the best solution for the company, given that Jat on its own lacked capacity to make necessary purchase of new planes.
