Large quantity of gas, air weapons seized at eastern border

The items were found hidden in a truck entering Serbia via the Gradina border crossings.
According to a statement, the Customs seized 80 Grizzly 83-2 5.5 millimeter and Grizzly Striker 4.5 millimeter air rifle barrels, 80 rifle stocks, ten Zoraki 9 millimeter air pistols, 4,000 pieces of ammunition for gas pistols, and 70 optical rifle scopes.
The truck, traveling from Turkey to Montenegro, had Novi Pazar license plates and was driven by a 27-year-old resident of the town of Krusevac. The vehicle's declared cargo was confectionery products.
The Customs said that the case will be further investigated by "specialized security services" as the smuggling operation points to organized by crime groups who are converting gas and air weapons into conventional arms.
