In addition, three former traffic police officers from this town have also been arrested.

They are suspected of asking for and taking money bribes in various amounts from drivers who violated traffic rules, instead of issuing them with tickets.

According to the MUP, this was taking place along the Ibar Highway, from February until May 2016.

Authorities suspect that in this way, more than 1.5 million dinars were never paid to the Serbian state budget.

All suspects are currently held in custody that can last up to 48 hours, and will then be charged and taken before the Higher Public Prosecution in Cacak, a statement said.
