The Court of Appeals in Belgrade has overturned another verdict handed down to an associate of Darko Saric, Mihajlo Djokovic, and ordered a retrial.

Court overturns verdict to Saric associate, orders retrial

The Court of Appeals recently made a similar decision in the case of Darko Saric and others who stood accused of smuggling 5.7 tons of cocaine from Latin America to Western Europe. These separate cases could not be merged for the retrial.

The court said it was necessary to overturn the first-degree verdicts as they significantly violated provisions of the criminal proceedings by not stating the reasons concerning the facts that were the subject of being proved, "while the reasons provided were completely unclear."
