Members of the Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP) in Novi Sad on Tuesday discovered 30 illegal migrants from Syria and Turkey.

According to a police statement, "some of the migrants were found in four private cars driven by three men from Belgrade and one woman from Obrenovac."It added that the drivers will face criminal charges for illegal crossing of the border and for people trafficking.
Three more taxi drivers that were transporting other migrants gave their statements to the police. A report on this will be submitted to the prosecution, the police statement said.
The migrants, citizens of Syria and Turkey, "have expressed their intention to seek asylum in Serbia," said the police.
