Higher Court judge arrested on corruption charges
The latter two suspects were arrested as they attempted to leave the country via the Horgos border crossing with Hungary in the early hours of Wednesday, the statement specified.Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic commented on the arrests to say the judge was suspected of "receiving money over a long period of time" in order to influence the outcome of a court process where Dj.M. was a defendant.
Stefanovic believes that the operation, along with the one earlier in the week when dozens of police and customs officers were detained, was "proof that nobody will be protected if they break the law," and that the MUP and the government are dedicated to fighting corruption and crime.
