13 people have lost their lives in less than 48 hours in four separate cases of family violence that took place in different parts of Serbia.

There have been few details about this case that was reported on Sunday morning, shortly before a man in northern Serbia shot and killed six members of his family before he was killed.

Police chiefs in the towns of Kanjiza and Senta were sacked on Monday as it emerged that R.S. was brought in for domestic violence the same morning, but was quickly released, and proceeded to commit the murders.

On Monday, a local businessman in Cacak shot and killed his wife in the presence of their son, and then committed suicide. It was reported the same day that a man had murdered his wife in Belgrade Slavija Hotel before he killed himself.
