Serbs released from custody, more incidents in KM

The Albanian was in a group believed to have attempted to commit theft, and went missing as they were fleeing the scene.

Divers continue to search the Ibar River, while the case has been taken over by the EULEX prosecution, Deputy Regional Commander of Kosovo Police Besim Hoti has said.

The series of incidents in the ethnically divided town began last Thursday when a group of persons crossed the bridge from southern Kosovska Mitrovica and stabbed a 17-year-old Serb, causing him serious injuries.

Over the weekend, ethnic Albanians and Bosniaks were targeted in several incidents, while in the night between Sunday and Monday two Serbs were injured. A while later a Kosovo police car came under fire.

Hoti said there were three suspects in these two incidents, and that the police "searched a couple of locations in Zvečan."

The latest incident happened late on Monday, when an unknown person threw an explosive device at a Kosovo police parking lot. No injuries were reported but four cars were damaged in the blast.
