The police in Belgrade have announced that a man was killed on Friday morning near the Asteriks cafe, and identified him with his initials as V.D.

Red Star supporters group leader killed in Belgrade

A 27-year-old woman that was with him was seriously wounded in the shooting, the media reported.

According to this, Dunjić was was shot to death by an unknown attacker while in a parked vehicle. The police investigated the scene, while the parking service removed one car - a gray BMW.

The daily Blic writes that Dunjić was known for committing numerous serious criminal acts. In December of last year, he was sentenced to two years in prison for attacking LDP party leader Čedomir Jovanović.

Before that, he was sent to jail for four years for attempted murder, but was pardoned in November 2012.

Dunjić was also mentioned in B92 TV's program Insajder (Insider), in a series ivestigating why Serbia's state institutions allowed extremists who call themselves sports fans to become so powerful that "nobody could say anything about them, starting with the media, via club managements, all the way to politicians."
