Suspected members of international crime group arrested

Three foreign nationals wanted on fraud charges in several countries have been arrested in Serbia, Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljević confirmed.

Suspected members of international crime group arrested

Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime and police are in this case providing legal assistance to the British authorities, it was announced.

Earlier in the day, the police in Kragujevac, central Serbia, arrested two British citizens and one Moroccan. This international criminal group is suspected of damaging a large number of citizens in the EU "for at least GBP 1.6 million."

They are charged with fraud, money laundering, drug trafficking and production, but for now the Serbian Interior Ministry has no information that the group also committed crimes in Serbia.

The three foreigners were arrested as part of an international police operation that started yesterday in the U.S., Britain, Spain and Serbia.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, the operation resulted in the arrest of at least 89 people, while one of the organizers was arrested in Kragujevac.
