Thieves target vehicles stranded in snowdrifts

Several cars were robbed and had parts removed while trapped in snow on the Stajićevo-Perlez road in northern Serbia on Sunday.

Thieves target vehicles stranded in snowdrifts

MUP Emergency Sector chief Predrag Marić said the incidents had to do with "our mentality."

Zrenjanin Mayor Ivan Bošnjak confirmed that some vehicles had been targeted by the thieves, and described it as "unacceptable and ugly behavior."

He also urged everyone whose car was stranded on the road to "come as soon as possible and collect their vehicles in agreement with the traffic police."

The police in this town repeated the appeal. The media, on the other hand, wondered "how the owners will take over their cars if they're missing wheels."
