KOSOVSKA MITROVICA Krstimir Pantic said on Tuesday that he has been interviewed in the police station in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, a town in northern Kosovo. The former mayor of the town and former deputy director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo noted that this constitutes "a continuation of pressure on Serbs in the province." Former K. Mitrovica official questioned by police Pantic said in a statement that Kosovo police warned him that a warrant will be issued for his arrest, if he does not go to the police station for an interview concerning accusations that he allegedly physically attacked one person in Kosovska Mitrovica on November 8 last year. "After the hearing that lasted for around an hour, I was allowed to leave the station because the investigative judge could not decide whether to request my detention due to previous obligations in the court and I was told that the decision about that will be delivered later," Pantic noted. Pantic said that this constitutes "a continuation of pressure that Serbs are subjected to in Kosovo and Metohija due to the fact that the alleged physical attack with which he is charged happened over two months ago, and in the meantime he did not receive any call to go to the police station for an interview." Pantic noted that the person accusing him of the attack was "an employee of the Vucitrn municipality and a member of the anti-election campaign headquarters" during local elections in Kosovska Mitrovica that were held in November, and he reported the case to EULEX.
