BELGRADE - The preliminary hearing ahead of the trial for fraud in road maintenance companies against Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic, his son Marko, Milo Djuraskovic and eight more people has been delayed until October 14 because several defence attorneys were not notified on time. Preliminary Hearing for Miskovic Postponed until October14th According to Zoran Ateljevic, the attorney of Nibens Group owner Milo Djuraskovic as one of the defendants, all defence lawyers should be notified timely by this date, which will meet the trial conditions for the staging of preliminary hearing. After six months of the investigation, the Prosecutor's Office raised the indictment in May against Miroslav and Marko Miskovic, Milo Djuraskovic and eight more individuals suspected of illegal withdrawal and appropriation of funds and property from several road maintenance companies in the period from 2005 to 2010. The Prosecutor's Office suspects that the defendants caused RSD 16.95 billion worth of damages to road maintenance companies and RSD 472 million worth of damages to the Serbian budget as well. Miroslav Miskovic was released from the Belgrade District Prison detention unit on July 23. Miskovic spend 224 days in detention since his arrest on December 12, 2012, and his detention sentence was revoked when his company paid EUR 12 million worth of warrants in the equivalent sum in dinars. He was released pending trial. Of all the suspects in the case, only Milo Djuraskovic remained in detention as Marko Miskovic was placed in house arrest until April and the eight other suspects were released pending trial. The hearing was scheduled for Wednesday within the legal deadline of 30 days from the day of delivery of the confirmed indictment to the court. The next hearing was set for October due to the busy schedule in the only courtroom in which the trial can be held due to the number of defendants in the case.
