Former agriculture minister indicted
The Organized Crime Prosecution has indicted former Agriculture Minister Saša Dragin for his involvement in the Azotara case, B92 has learned.

BELGRADE The Organized Crime Prosecution has indicted former Agriculture Minister Sasa Dragin for his involvement in the Azotara case, B92 has learned. The Organized Crime Prosecution told B92 that Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic would soon address the public. Former agriculture minister indicted Dragin was arrested together CES Mecon owner Zvonimir Nikezic and another eight persons on November 24, 2012 on suspicion of illegal sale of artificial fertilizers. The suspects incurred damages worth EUR 5mn to the state budget during 2009 and 2010. The Serbian government passed a regulation according to which agricultural cooperatives, farms and registered agricultural companies partly owned by the state could buy artificial fertilizers at a lower price. Soon after Azotara Pancevo artificial fertilizer plant, whose consultant was Nikezic, sent 70,000 tons of fertilizer to three agricultural companies. However, the fertilizers were then forwarded to privately-owned companies Sunce, Invej, Terabo and Mlinostep that were not entitled to the cheaper fertilizers. Sasa Dragin (Tanjug, file) B92
