“Runaway drug lord won’t be witness-associate”

BELGRADE Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic has said that he has no information that runway drug lord Darko Saric has been located. He also denied that negotiations were underway with Saric in order to grant him a witness-associate status. “Runaway drug lord won’t be witness-associate” “The Special Prosecution has no information that Darko Saric has been located, that we are closing in on him or that his arrest is certain ad media have been reporting for days,” the prosecutor told daily Politika. He noted that Saric could only get a status of witness-associate if he proved that someone was above him in the gang’s hierarchy. “This is not possible at the moment because he is on the top of the pyramid. If Saric revealed some levels above him and if he said the names of organizers, then he would get a status of an organized crime group member and it would then be possible to give him a witness-associate status. The condition is that his story can be checked and proven,” Radisavljevic explained.
