BELGRADE Serbian police have arrested seven and Slovenian four persons suspected of international drug trafficking. The Serbian police have stated that the group is suspected of organizing an international criminal group that smuggled narcotics from the Dominican Republic to Slovenia and Serbia and from Turkey to Serbia, Slovenia and the Netherlands. The suspects were arrested in Belgrade, Pancevo, Novi Sad and at the Gradina border crossing. Vinko Rakonjac, Montenegrin citizen Dejan Nedovic, Dejan Avramovic, Dragan Tomic, and Bosnia-Herzegovina citizens Vladimir Lakic, Miroljub Jovanovic and Igor Krstic were arrested in Serbia, Serbian police Director Milorad Veljovic has said. Large amounts of narcotics were seized in an operation dubbed Kranj in several EU states, primarily in Slovenia and Austria. Several expensive cars, two guns, drug measuring equipment and more than USD 15,000 was found in the suspects' possession.
