The continuation of the trial against war crimes indictee Ratko Mladic before the Hague Tribunal, scheduled for June 25 was postponed until further notice. In the continuation of the trial, the prosecution should start presenting its evidence and hearing first witnesses. Hague: Trial of Ratko Mladic postponed The Hague Trial Chamber on one occasion partially accepted the proposition by Mladic's defense for postponement of proceedings and decided to start witness interrogation on June 25 instead of May 29 as was originally planned. At the request filed by Mladic's defense, the proceedings were postponed because of serious oversights in the proceedings of indictment disclosure, as chairman of the Trial Chamber Alfonso Ori noted at the time. The defense asked that the presentation of evidence and witness hearing should be postponed for six months, with an explanation that the team was not granted timely access to a many documents, including some which are essential to the trial. Lawyers in the defense team of Mladic, former commander of the Bosnian Serb military, demanded that the Trial Chamber should allow the right to appeal the decision on the beginning of evidence presentation on June 25 if the request by the defense team is not granted. The two-point indictment charges Mladic, 70, with genocide committed in Srebrenica, according to nine points that cover crimes against humanity and violation of laws and traditions of war. The Hague Trial Chamber on one occasion partially accepted the proposition by Mladić's defense for postponement of proceedings and decided to start witness interrogation on June 25 instead of May 29 as was originally planned.

At the request filed by Mladić's defense, the proceedings were postponed because of serious oversights in the proceedings of indictment disclosure, as chairman of the Trial Chamber Alfonso Ori noted at the time.

The defense asked that the presentation of evidence and witness hearing should be postponed for six months, with an explanation that the team was not granted timely access to a many documents, including some which are essential to the trial.

Lawyers in the defense team of Mladić, former commander of the Bosnian Serb military, demanded that the Trial Chamber should allow the right to appeal the decision on the beginning of evidence presentation on June 25 if the request by the defense team is not granted.
