The Organized Crime Prosecution has filed an indictment against controversial northern Kosovo businessman Zvonko Veselinovic, B92 has learnt. Aside from Veselinovic, the Organized Crime Prosecution also filed an indictment against Dragan Curcic and Milan Radojicic on suspicion that they illegally obtained 32 trucks from the Hypo Alpe-Adria-Leasing. Controversial businessman indicted for abuse of office Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic told B92 that the suspects were charged with abuse of office and illegally obtaining at least RSD 237mn. “Veselinovic and Curcic’s custody was extended after the indictment was raised while Radojicic is in custody on orders from a Pirot investigative judge,” Radisavljevic explained. According to him, the illegally obtained vehicles were used by Curcic’s Evrokop company in April and June 2008 based on a financial leasing contract that the company had with Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank. The leasing contract was terminated in November 2010 because Curcic’s firm stopped paying its leasing installments. Instead of returning the trucks to Hypo Alpe-Adria-Leasing, the three suspects transported them to Kosovo in the second half of 2010. They continued to use them and kept the money they earned for themselves. They also tried to sell the trucks. According to the indictment, they were also used for the construction of the Pristina-Tirana highway. The organized crime prosecutor pointed out that some vehicles had been found in the territory of Kosovo and added that he expected them to be returned to the owner. The Higher Court in Kraljevo launched an investigation against Veselinovic for illegal weapons possession in December 2011. He was arrested at Mt. Kopaonik on December 20 together with his brother Zarko who is under investigation of the Special Court in Belgrade on suspicion that he incited Raska Municipal Court judge Srecko Topalovic to abuse of office. KFOR believes that Zvonko Veselinovic is one of the organizers of the last year’s riots in Kosovo. Radisavljevic confirmed in January that the Organized Crime Prosecution had filed a request for investigation against Veselinovic, Curcic and Radojicic. There have been reports that Veselinovic was involved in smuggling in Kosovo and that he was on Post of Kosovo’s payroll. KFOR Commander Erhard Drews stated that the Veselinovic brothers were behind attacks on KFOR troops and setting barricades on fire, adding that KFOR had videos that proved the allegations.
