The Hague Tribunal on Friday rejected Vojislav Seselj’s request to be temporarily released. The Serb Radical Party (SRS) leader requested from the Tribunal to release him from custody he has been in since February 24, 2003. Tribunal rejects Seselj’s request for temporary release He added that there were no reason to keep him in custody any longer because there was no danger that he would influence witnesses and stressed that he was not a flight risk. He added that there were no reason to keep him in custody any longer because there was no danger that he would influence witnesses and stressed that he was not a flight risk.

The Hague Tribunal rejected the request, claiming that Šešelj did not provide sufficient evidence that he would not influence the witnesses bearing in mind that he was standing trial for contempt of court.
