The Anti-Corruption Agency filed criminal charges against the Novi Sad mayor and members of the City Council to the Organized Crime Prosecution. This was announced by the Agency on Wednesday. Corruption charges against Novi Sad mayor The charges were filed because of grounded suspicion that the officials abused their office and powers and thus caused several million worth of damages to Novi Sad, Vojvodina ATP company and Ilija Devic as the buyer and majority owner of the public share in the company's capital, as well as to some other small-scope share-holders. The current value of the damages inflicted on the buyer and the company total over EUR 100mn. The Agency officials point out that the charges against the mayor and members of the Novi Sad City Council constitute one of the most extensive and most complicated cases currently under investigation.
